Abnormal lines/stripes on screen.
Symptom:
User may notice abnormal vertical or horizontal lines/stripes on screen. Below are some samples:
Solution:
1. Change LCD lid open angle several times and watch the LCD behavior. Check if the symptom got any changes during the test.
If so, reconnect or replace the LCD cable.
2. Enter BIOS and check if the abnormal lines/stripes also exists in BIOS.
If so, replace LCD panel(systemboard failure may also cause the symptom, but the chance is lower than LCD panel based on statistics).
3. Connect an external monitor then switch the display to it, check if the symptom still exists in the external monitor.
If so, replace the systemboard (if the symptom is still there after systemboard replacement, replace memory then CPU).
If the symptom does not exist in the external monitor, replace the LCD panel.
